The Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) is partnering with the Institute for Government (IfG) to deliver the annual Engaging with Government course for academics. This immersive three-day programme will be held at the IfG offices in London from 4 to 6 March 2025.
The course is specifically designed to equip researchers with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively engage with government bodies, influence public policy and make their research more impactful in the policy-making process. Open to academics from a range of disciplines, it offers a valuable opportunity for those seeking to contribute to public policy through their work.
These are some of the key benefits of the course:
- identify opportunities: discover where your research can contribute meaningfully to public policy
- understand the policy process: gain a deeper understanding of how policy is shaped and the role research plays within it
- enhance communication and influencing skills: learn how to effectively communicate your research to influence decision-makers and policymakers
